Huntington Senior's Fashions in Show

Last weekend's Huntington holiday parade and street fair in the village included a fashion show that featured two pieces designed by Huntington High School senior Allison Wieland.

Ms. Wieland is a third-year fashion program student and has her eyes set on attending Fashion Institute of Technology next fall. She has worked closely with Huntington High School fashion teachers Kristin Singer and Amy Worth.

Last Saturday's parade and street fair included a tree-lighting ceremony, entertainment, games, horse and carriage rides and a visit by Santa Claus over a three-hour period. The fashion show was sponsored by Lina'z of Huntington.

Ms. Wieland, who takes classes at FIT on Saturdays, is participating in a fashion internship with Ms. Worth this year. She is also interning with Lori Toth, a Vera Wang pattern maker. The teenager will be coordinating Huntington High School's spring fashion show.

"We couldn't be any prouder of Allison," Superintendent John J. Finello said. "She is a very hardworking and creative young woman with a real talent in fashion design. With her talent, the sky is the limit to what she can accomplish."
