Gabrielle Morgerman, a 1981 Huntington High School graduate, is senior vice-president and head of the talent department at the prestigious William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, CA.  She earned an undergraduate degree at Smith College.

 

In Dec. 1991, Ms. Morgerman, known as Gaby, married Patrick Morris, who obtained an undergraduate degree at Cornell Univ. and a law degree at New York University.  He is a founding partner in what today is one of America’s top entertainment law firms, which is based in Los Angeles.  He has represented clients ranging from Matthew McConaughey, Minnie Driver, Mike Judge (voiceovers and animator Beavis and Butt-head, Spy Kids, creator of King of the Hill, etc.) and Mike Newell (director, producer of numerous hit movies) to the creators of “South Park.” At the time of the couple’s wedding, Ms. Morgerman was in the agent in training program at the William Morris Agency.

 

Ms. Morgerman, who was in the National Honor Society at Huntington High School and who earned a Regents Scholarship, represents some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry today, including several Academy Award winners.  The Hollywood Reporter has rated her as one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry. 

 

Ms. Morgerman and Mr. Morris are the parents of two children.  The couple resides in Malibu, CA.

Gerard (Jerry) Boden was president of Huntington High School’s Class of 1981.  He went on to earn a B.S. degree at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and serve in the U.S. Army as an ordnance officer (captain) from 1985-90.  Among his awards was an Army commendation medal with oak leaf cluster, Army achievement medal, Army overseas service ribbon and Army service ribbon.

 

Today, Mr. Boden is chief-of-staff for Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, himself a Huntington High School graduate (Class of 1979).  Mr. Boden obtained an MBA at Georgetown Univ. in 1992.   According to official state profile, he has worked as a manufacturing manager for Howmet Corp. in NJ (1992-96), production manager for Component Remanufacturing Specialists in NJ (1996-98), operations manager, Coining Technologies in NJ (1998-99), director of operations, Ciena Corp. in MD (2000-03) and director of operations for the Greater Maryland Dental Partners (2004-06).  He was a Toll Fellow with the Council of State Governments in 2007.

 

Since Jan. 17, 2007, Mr. Boden, who was a member of the National Honor Society at Huntington High School, has been the chief-of-staff of Mr. Brown’s state office.

Former U.S. Congressman Robert Mrazak, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 1963, recently visited Long Island to promote his new book, “A Dawn Like Thunder: The True Story of Torpedo Squadron Eight.”  The book tells the story of a group of young naval aviators that helped change history with their skill and valor at the key battles of Guadalcanal and Midway.

 

Mr. Mrazak served in the Suffolk Legislature and spent five terms in the House of Representatives.  The author of three novels, including the acclaimed and award-winning “Stonewall’s Gold,” Mr. Mrazek resides in Ithaca, NY.  He returned to Huntington High School in 2003 for the 40th reunion of his graduating class.

Salvatore Morando, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 1942 who went on to earn a DDS at New York University, is mourning the loss of his wife, Mildred, who passed away on the couple’s 59th wedding anniversary.

 

Upon his retirement from private dental practice, Dr. Morando and his wife moved to Weston, Florida to be near their children.  The couple’s two sons, Thomas (1970) and Robert (1981) and daughter, Chris (1972) graduated from Huntington High School.

Russell G. Morgan, Jr., a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 2001, earned an associate’s degree at SUNY College at Farmingdale.  Today he is a member of the New York City Fire Department.

His family, friends and former classmates continue to mourn the loss of Steven R. Pond, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 1968.  He passed away last fall after a long illness that he courageously fought for many years.  Mr. Pond earned an undergraduate degree at Cornell University.  His wife, Leslie, is a longtime Huntington faculty member who currently teaches math at Washington Primary School.  Mr. Pond also leaves behind two sons, Adam and Damon.
