Boshko Wins Huntington Foundation Journal Artwork Competition
This year’s journal for the Huntington Foundation’s annual Reach for the Stars Gala will be adorned with a stunning piece of work created by high school Advanced Placement art student Christina Boshko. As the countdown toward the festive evening begins, the Foundation announced the results of a spirited competition that saw an exceptional array of entries.
Ms. Boshko’s work is a colorful depiction Coindre Hall’s famed boathouse, located on Huntington Harbor. AP art students Yaxelyn Nieves and Marissa Benedetto were honored as runners-up in the journal artwork competition. Ms. Nieves’ work is of a scene from Heckscher Park while Ms. Benedetto’s is of the historic Huntington Lighthouse.
All three pieces recognized by the Foundation are watercolors with ink. The AP students who submitted entries are members of teacher Kristin Singer’s class.
