Huntington Students Excel at State SkillsUSA Contest

Students from Huntington High School shined in this year’s state SkillsUSA and FFA competitions. Valerie Ferreira won first place in architectural and interior design/CAD (computer aided design) in the SkillsUSA contest and Grey Hodgkinson captured second place in the individual veterinary science competition and first place in the team FFA contest.

The Huntington High School football program is preparing for its 102nd season. The Blue Devils are holding a meeting for varsity and JV parents and players on Tuesday (June 3) at 6 p.m. in the high school gym. The meeting is for current players in grades 8-11.

    Valentina Puccio played the part of hero so well on Wednesday afternoon. The junior scored in sudden death overtime to break a 5-5 tie and send the Huntington girls’ lacrosse team past visiting Northport and into the Suffolk finals against Ward Melville on Saturday. The Blue Devils will play for the county title at 11:30 a.m. at Smithtown West.
