Huntington Foundation Announces Star Awards

The Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education has announced its Star grant awards for the 2015/16 school year. The 11 grants amount to more than $45,000.

The grants were awarded “to assist with innovative educational projects in our district,” said Michael Grassi, the Huntington Foundation’s vice president for grant administration in a letter to district. Star grants typically run in excess of $1,000 each.

Huntington School Board members voted unanimously to accept a $45,006.04 donation to the district by the Huntington Foundation to fund this year’s Star grants during a public meeting of the trustees in the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School auditorium.

This year’s approved Star grants will fund the following initiatives:
