Huntington School Briefs
Quinn Rinaldi carried out his responsibilities flawlessly. The Southdown Primary School first grader was Principal for a Day after winning a contest that raised nearly $500. The youngster wore a sharp outfit and quickly became acclimated to his office surroundings, although he was out and about for most of the day, working closely with Southdown Principal Scott Oshrin.
“Quinn spoke at a PTA meeting, received a special tour of the ‘secret rooms’ in the building, called his friends into the principal’s office, did morning announcements and had lunch with his friends in his new office,” Mr. Oshrin said.
All in all it was a great day for the first grader.

H-ton Seven Head to Europe
Seven Huntington students are heading to a Spanish language immersion program in Salamanca, Spain. Six of them are graduates of the district’s dual-language program. The idea behind the trip was to cap off all their years of dual language hard work by having them participate in this Spanish language immersion program and hopefully cement their fluency.
The group includes rising seventh grader Luca D’Anna, rising eighth graders Spencer Login and Tess Stanley, rising ninth grader Livia D’Anna, rising tenth grader Dominick Stanley and rising eleventh graders Gaia D’Anna and Katchi Obermaier.
The Huntington students will fly together to Madrid on their own on Saturday to participate in the two-week long Enforex program.
