Blue Devils' 30th Annual Alumni Game on Saturday

Huntington High School's 30th annual boys' lacrosse team alumni game will be held this Saturday (May 11) on the turf field at Blue Devil Stadium.
"For our 30th annual alumni game, we have decided to turn things up a few notches to make this year special and hopefully carry on the tradition for many years to come," said Blue Devil 1989 alum Greg Kline, who is leading the organizing effort for the game. "We have added a few things to the day to incorporate the entire lacrosse community and make the day memorable."
Alumni players are expected to begin gathering at Finnegan's on Friday (May 10) at 9 p.m. for pre-game preparations. Any player who is in town at the time is invited to join the festivities.
Saturday will kick-off with an 11 a.m. varsity game that will pit Huntington against visiting Hampton Bays. Alumni players are expected to be in the bleachers for the game. Sandwiches and refreshments compliments of Sal D's of Huntington will be served to both teams following the game.
Current players and Blue Devil alums will hold a free clinic for the Huntington Village Lacrosse Club program after the varsity game. "We are encouraging all of our alumni to participate in this 1 p.m. clinic for the kids," Kline said. Food and refreshments will be provided to participants by Rookie's Sports Club following the clinic.
The alumni game will commence at 2 p.m. A crowd of about 500 is expected to attend. There will be a halftime presentation during which the alumni will present awards to two current Blue Devil players. Alum Leyland Davis and String it Up are providing players with brand new jerseys for the game.
Once the alumni game wraps-up, players will head down to the Harbor Boating Club for an after-party catered by Sal D's. "This spot is phenomenal and it will allow us to truly keep the day going in a way fitting for the 30th annual celebration," Kline said. "This is a great spot for the alumni and our families to enjoy into the early evening.
