Driver Education Registration Coming
Registration for the driver education program for Huntington High School seniors will be held on September 10 between 2:30-3:30 p.m. in room 122. Registration for all other students (juniors, sophomores and non-residents) will be held on September 11, also between 2:30-3:30 p.m. in room 122. The 54 openings in the program will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The course will run from September 19 through December 20. Lecture classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays. Students must attend both days. Road classes will be held Monday through Thursday and Saturday, too. Students must attend one road class per week. The specific hours each day will depend upon an individual's schedule. Schedules will be assigned on a first come, first served basis on the day of registration.
Students may only miss a total of three classes in the program, but all missed classes must immediately be made up. Make-ups of more than one road class may result in an additional fee. Once a fourth class is missed, the student will be dropped from the program and will not be eligible for a "Blue Card" (MV-285).
The registration fee for the course is $500 for residents and $525 for non-residents. For more information call the high school at 673-2018.
