Huntington High School Advisors Appointed

Teachers Anthony Troffa and Fred Bisogno will once again serve as faculty advisors to Huntington High School's student government. Huntington School Board members appointed the pair and more than three dozen other club advisors at their October 1 meeting in the Jack Abrams School auditorium.

Trustees also appointed Donna Nugent and Lauren Desiderio as senior class advisors, Victoria Lombardi and Gina Colica as junior class advisors, Patricia Dillon as the sophomore class advisor and Erik Bruckbauer and Camille Tedeschi as freshman class advisors.

Faculty advisors to the school's honor societies were also appointed, including Joseph Cohen (National Honor Society), Deidre Mayer (French Honor Society), Silvia Gilbert (Italian Honor Society), Kasmira Mohanty (Art Honor Society), Mercy Pena (Spanish Honor Society), Monica Racz (Math Honor Society) and Aimee Antorino and Helen Guarino, who will head the English Honor Society.

Kelly Kaiser and Gina Colica were named as the Key Club's faculty advisors. Edward Florea and Aimee Antorino will oversee The Dispatch, Huntington High School's student newspaper. Michael Schwendemann will reprise his role as the drama club advisor.

Amanda Meyer was named the Mathletes-9 advisor with Keith Mattis coordinating the Mathletes 10-12 program. Robert Gilmor was re-appointed to his faculty advisor positions for the Habitat for Humanity club and Natural Helpers.

Suzi Biagi and Camille DeCanio will work as co-advisors of Grandfriends and the World Unity club. Anna Fabela was approved as the Gay and Straight Alliance faculty advisor. Dianna Molenko was named the advisor to Etcetera, the Huntington High School literary magazine.

Trustees also approved Youlanda Carey (step team), Lori Kenny (science research), Lauren Desiderio (social issues) Kenneth Gilbert (stage crew), Heather Swan (video club), Pamela Piffard (The Huntingtonian yearbook/art, literary and photo) and Elizabeth Casazza (The Huntingtonian yearbook/business) as club advisors.
