On-Site College Admission for Huntington Seniors

Huntington High School seniors are invited to participate in an on-site college admission application review right in the comfort of the high school's college counseling center. Nine Long Island colleges are participating in the program, which will be available during February.

Students will be offered an opportunity to meet with admissions counselors from St. John's University, Adelphi University, Hofstra University, Molloy College, St. Joseph's College, Dowling College, New York Institute of Technology, Suffolk Community College and Nassau Community College. The admissions reps will personally evaluate the senior's college applications on the spot.

Most application fees are waived for students who participate in the program, according to Bernadette Walsh, Huntington High School's college counselor. (Nassau Community College requires its $50 application fee to be submitted upfront at the on-site program.) Students will receive immediate notification of acceptance or if further review is required, as well as being told of their eligibility for a scholarship.

Interested students should register in the college counseling center as soon as possible. Students will be provided with applications to any of the nine schools. Mrs. Walsh will also review specific college requirements, including essay, activity sheet, recommendations, etc.
