Budget Breakfast for HHS Seniors
It's an exercise in participation in government. Huntington High School seniors who will be 18 years old by May 15 are invited to attend a budget related breakfast during first period on Thursday, May 3 in the school cafeteria.
Participation in the session is purely voluntary. The event will provide the seniors with an opportunity to learn more about the budget development process and the courses, programs and activities funded in the 2012/13 spending plan.
Superintendent James W. Polansky and Huntington School Board President Emily Rogan will be on hand to answer questions posed by the teenagers. Voter registration forms will be available for those who haven't previously registered.
Huntington School District residents will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 15 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Huntington High School lobby. The ballot will include the budget proposition, a separate capital reserve fund proposition (passage of which will not increase taxes) and the election of three trustees.
A light breakfast will be served to those attending the May 3 event.
