Flower Hill Honors ESL Students

Flower Hill Primary School recently honored nine students who passed the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) last spring. The students' names were announced over the school's public address system and each of the youngsters was given a certificate in recognition of their accomplishment.

The students include Angie Hernandez-Ramos, Damanjit Singh, Mateo Umana, Kevin Campos-Moreira, Lianette Gonzalez-Cortes, Eimi Valenzuela, Daniel Cruz, Johnny Dossantos and Jasson Garay Portillo.

Teachers Liane Neumann and Claudia Gonzalez-Butler and Principal Marlon Small joined the nine youngsters for a photo to commemorate the occasion.

"This is a wonderful achievement and the result of plenty of hard work by the students and their teachers," Mr. Small said. "We are grateful for the support provided by the parents of these youngsters.
