SEPTA Film Festival Set for
Thursday Night
It's always a special kind of evening when the Huntington School District's Special Education PTA comes together for its annual film festival at the Cinema Arts Centre. This year's big night will happen this Thursday (Oct. 27) from 7-10 p.m. The entire community is invited to attend.
A carefully selected set of seven short films about people with special needs will be shown. The films range in length from four to 31 minutes. The showcased films were previously featured at the world-renowned Sprout Film Festival, which is presented over a weekend at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Huntington SEPTA's "Lights Down, Hearts Open" festival is designed to help celebrate Disability Awareness Month and raise community consciousness about people with developmental disabilities and the issues they encounter.
Tickets will be available at the door for $5, which includes soda and popcorn. For more information contact Huntington SEPTA at huntsepta@hotmail.com or call 427-2133.
Following the film showings, there will be a coffee and dessert reception in the Cinema Art Centre's Sky Room.
The Cinema Arts Centre is located at 423 Park Avenue (just south of Main Street/25A) in Huntington.
