A Tradition of Excellence since 1657

Dinner Brings Together
PTA Presidents and Principals

This year's PTA Presidents and Principals Dinner continued the tradition of bringing together many of the key figures in the Huntington School District. The event allowed parents and administrators to share a meal and strengthen the bridges between the two groups.

"The Presidents and Principals Dinner was a lovely evening and a wonderful chance to meet new people and celebrate the many wonderful PTA activities and events that our schools are doing," said Michelle Marino, principal of Southdown Primary School. "Having this opportunity to share a delicious meal with the people who donate so much of their time and enthusiasm to our schools and children was a real honor."

Each year the PTA presidents invite principals and district administrators to dinner at a local restaurant. This year's event was at Black & Blue Seafood Chop House on Wall Street in Huntington Village.

"The Presidents and Principals dinner is one that I look forward to every year," said John Amato, principal of J. Taylor Finley Middle School. "It is a chance to sit in a relaxed setting with the administrators and the PTA presidents and talk about what is great about our schools. There is so much that is good that is happening in all the buildings. The PTA is such a great organization at Huntington."

Huntington's PTA presidents and other PTA officials volunteer an enormous number of hours toward making the district a better place. PTA members are a constant presence at all seven school buildings. "The Principals and Presidents Dinner has become a tradition," said Bari Fehrs, PTA Council president.

"I had a really nice time getting to know our PTA presidents in a relaxed atmosphere," said Mary Stokkers, principal of Woodhull Intermediate School. "I appreciate all they do to support us as principals. We work hard together to make our schools inviting for learning."

"This is a great tradition for both presidents and principals," said Carmela Leonardi, principal of Huntington High School. "I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the event and the opportunity to meet with the parents who are so involved and supportive of all our schools. I enjoyed the evening and the opportunity to get to know parents from other buildings."

"The Presidents and Principals Dinner is one of the most enjoyable evenings of the year for me," said Margaret H. Evers, principal of Jefferson Primary School. "It's fun to have a few hours to relax with our hardworking PTA presidents and to thank them for their commitment of time and partnership. They serve our communities so very well and deserve our great appreciation!"

"We really appreciate everything our PTA does for our students and teachers," said Marsha Neville, principal of Washington Primary School. "They are always ready to step up to the plate whenever we need them."

"It was a fun night," said Marlon Small, principal of Flower Hill Primary School.
