Co-ed Summer Volleyball Camp Planned for Huntington

The Huntington Booster Club is sponsoring an evening co-ed volleyball camp this summer at Huntington High School. Open to boys and girls entering grades 5-12, the camp will run July 11-14 from 6-9 p.m. Registration is $125 per player.

The camp will be co-directed by Blue Devil coaches Caroline Reilly and Lynn Hefele. The camp program will feature a small instructor-to-athlete ration, plenty of skill building games, fun drills, a final tournament and an easy-going atmosphere. Beginner and intermediate skill levels are welcome.

Ms. Reilly captained the Springfield College, winning team and Northeast Eight tournament MVP honors. She later served as assistant coach for Springfield's men's and women's teams. She has also played in state and national tournaments and even internationally, traveling to Sweden and Israel with select teams.

Mrs. Hefele has coached boys' and girls' volleyball in Huntington on the varsity, junior varsity and middle school levels for two decades. An academic All-American volleyball player for Springfield College, she led the team as captain and received team and league MVP honors.

Camp sessions will be held in Louis D. Giani Gymnasium at Huntington High School. The goal of the game is to improve individual skill levels and develop a fundamental understanding of volleyball, according to a camp brochure.
