Huntington Athletics Applauds Outback's Generosity

The 43rd annual Blue Devil senior athletic awards banquet at Huntington High School, which honored 100 graduating senior athletes, featured a touch of Australia, thanks to the Outback Steakhouse located in the Big H Shopping Center. Outback helped underwrite the evening, donating its time and services in feeding a crowd of about 200 attendees.

Huntington District Director of Athletics Georgia McCarthy thanked local Outback staff. The group cooked the food on site. The menu included steak, chicken, potatoes, salad, bread and refreshments. Coffee and cookies were available for dessert.

"We sincerely appreciate Outback's continued interest and support of our schools and students," Mrs. McCarthy said. "We certainly enjoy having Outback so close to our school and community. It's where many of our coaches and family meet for dinner and conversation."

Cooking food on grills right outside Louis D. Giani Gymnasium produced an appealing aroma that filtered throughout the area. Following the banquet some coaches drove down the block to Outback to continue the celebration.

"Outback has been a very strong supporter of our program," Mrs. McCarthy said.

"Outback is a strong supporter of Blue Devil athletics," Mrs. McCarthy said. Many teams hold their end-of-season parties at the restaurant.
