Dancing with the High School Stars
The Young Leaders program, a local organization headed by Blue Devil coaches Ron Wilson and Kevin Thorbourne that has been working with student-athletes from Huntington and Walt Whitman high schools, is co-hosting Dancing with the High School Stars this Friday evening (June 10) at Walt Whitman High School at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $10.
Teenagers who are participating in the Young Leaders program put the event together. Student-athletes that will be dancing in the fun competition will include many of the top seniors in the Blue Devil and Wildcat sports programs. They will be partnered with professional dancers, some of whom were on MTV Americas' best dance crew.
"The students have been practicing now for a little over a month," Mr. Thorbourne said. "MSG Varsity is doing a special show on the event."
The event is co-hosted by Young Leaders and the Wildcat Booster club. Proceeds from the 90 minute program will support the activities of the two organizations. Call Mr. Thorbourne at (516) 322-2286 for more information.
