Huntington School Board Retreat Set for Tuesday, July 26
The Huntington School Board will hold a retreat on Tuesday, July 26 from 7-9 p.m. in the superintendent's conference room at the district office. With a new superintendent, two new trustees and a new school board president, the time seemed right to hold the session, the first of its kind in several years.
Since no public business will be discussed and no official actions taken, the retreat will be closed to the public, in accordance with the state's open meetings law. Trustees are expected to engage in a self-assessment process, discuss interpersonal relations and related items, develop and improve upon their team building and communication skills and participate in educational and training exercises.
Superintendent James W. Polansky assumed leadership of the district on July 1. Newly elected trustees Jennifer Hebert and Adam Spector were sworn into office at a reorganization meeting on July 5, at which time trustee Emily Rogan was elected Huntington School Board president for the 2011/12 school year.
