SEPTA Announces Grant Awards
The Huntington School Board has accepted a donation of $3,632 from the Special Education PTA to be used in funding nine grants in five different school buildings this year.
SEPTA annually awards grants based upon faculty generated proposals. The group raises the monies through various fundraising events. "We appreciate SEPTA's generosity," Superintendent John J. Finello said. "These new grants will be used by our teachers to enhance classroom education for our students."
"We would like to applaud the awarded teachers for their innovative ideas and for their dedication to enriching the education of children receiving services," said Maria Kiley, SEPTA's co-vice president.
SEPTA's main fundraiser is the annual Sunset and Sounds on the Bay event at the Bay Club in Huntington. This year's festivities are scheduled for May 21. Details and ticket information will be released soon.
