Huntington Pores Over
State Assessment Results
It might be summer, but Huntington School District officials are poring over state assessment results for students who were enrolled in grades 3-8 during the 2010/11 school year. The state recently sent test results to districts across New York.
District executives are reviewing scores from the state English language arts and math tests. Coinciding with the test score analysis is a discussion of the district's current ELA and math curriculum and instructional strategies and practices.
"We are committed to working extensively to insure that all students meet and exceed all state assessment targets on every grade level," Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky said. "I want to be clear; this is without question a foremost priority in the district."
The state will make available school report cards in the fall for all schools and districts in New York. Report cards for the Huntington School District will be posted on the district's website at www.hufsd.edu.
