Trustees Accept Donations to
School District
The Huntington Foundation has donated more than $22,000 to the Huntington School District to fund a new round of grants that span a variety of innovative programs and pieces of equipment.
Huntington School Board members accepted a donation of $22,166.53 that is earmarked for grants at Washington School, Southdown School, Huntington High School and for sixth graders at Woodhull School.
Trustees also accepted the donation of 36 softball and 24 softball helmet face masks from Huntington parent Joseph Messina. The items can be used by the district's middle school, junior varsity and varsity teams.
Matt Harris, another Huntington parent, donated many items for use in the district's music program. The items include a Sony CD player, Dell 4300 computer for sound effects, Samsung 15 inch LCD computer monitor, complete color closed circuit system for backstage, including two color TV monitors, Sharp VHS player, color camera, mount and all wiring, Crown CT power amplifier, Garret handheld metal detector wand, Behringer MDX four channel compressor/limiter, Dynaco PAT4 pre-amp, Technics turn-table and two Altec Lansing "Voice of the Theater" speakers.
