Emma Hayes-Hurley Goes Wild

Emma Hayes-Hurley turned in one of the best performances in Blue Devil girls' lacrosse history, notching six goals and four assists to lead Huntington High School past Deer Park, 18-2.
Hayes-Hurley, a senior who has accepted a scholarship to play at Binghamton University, helped the Blue Devils open a 9-0 first half advantage. The team showed few signs of letting up the rest of the way as they went on a scoring tear.
Huntington's well-balanced attack sparkled all afternoon. Senior Sarah Ehrman, who is headed to Stony Brook University next fall, scored three goals and added four assists. Hannah Burnett contributed four goals and three assists and senior Emilie Pugliese, who is bound for High Point University, tallied a goal and five assists.
Huntington could do no wrong. With a relentless offense, dominating midfield presence and aggressive defense, the Blue Devils looked like a championship squad.
Sophomore Alexis-Nicole Thompson had two goals and an assist. Sophomore Stephanie Rafuse and eighth grader Alyssa Amorison also added goals. Junior Colleen Wright chipped in with an assist.
Huntington's eighth grade goalie, Anna Tesoriero stopped five shots before yielding to senior Samantha Mohr, who came in and recorded one save.
