Enrollment Figures
The Huntington School District's enrollment stands at 4,478, according to figures released late last week by school officials.
Huntington High School consists of 1,297 teenagers. There are 290 members of the senior class, 283 juniors, 346 sophomores, 366 freshmen and a dozen eighth graders attended high school classes.
J. Taylor Finely Middle School has 695 students enrolled this year, including 352 seventh graders and 343 eighth graders.
There are 688 fifth and sixth graders attending Woodhull Intermediate School. The district had tentatively been projecting an enrollment there of 709 students.
Washington School's enrollment of 467 students is the largest of the four primary buildings. Flower Hill has 457 students, Southdown consists of 448 youngsters and Jefferson has an enrollment of 424.
Assistant Superintendent Joseph Giani said that Woodhull School has enough space to provide separate art and music rooms while those subjects share a room at each of the four primary buildings.
