Trustees Appoint Huntington High School Club Advisors

 

Huntington School Board members have put four dozen Huntington High School club advisors in place for the 2010/11 school year, including teachers Fred Bisogno and Anthony Troffa, who were reappointed as faculty advisors for the student government.

 

Trustees have also appointed numerous honor society advisors including Kristin Singer (art), Kasmira Mohanty (art), Aimee Antorino (English), Helen Guarino (English), Deidre Mayer (French), Silvia Gilbert (Italian), Mercy Pena (Spanish), Joseph Cohen (Nathan Hale chapter - National Honor Society), Lori Kenny (science), Dame Forbes (science) and Doris Quintilian (math).

 

Individual class advisors include Gina Colica (freshman), Victoria Lombardi (freshman), Donna Nugent (sophomore), Lauren Desiderio (sophomore), Camille Tedeschi (junior), Erik Bruckbauer (junior), Eliana Oranges (senior) and Lori Kenny (senior).

 

Trustees also appointed James Graber (The Dispatch – literary and printing), Kenneth Krummenacker (Etcetera), Roy Dumar (Gay & Straight Alliance), Suzette Biagi (Grandfriends, Students for World Unity), Camille DeCanio (Grandfriends, Students for World Unity), Michael Swendemann (Drama), Robert Gilmor (Habitat for Humanity, Natural Helpers), Gina Colica (Key club), Kelly Kaiser (Key club), Amanda Meyer (Mathletes 9), Keith Mattis (Mathletes 9), Joan Lehnert (Mathletes 10-12), Lori Kenny (Science Research club), Rhonda Nixon (Step team), Youlanda Carey (Step team), Heather Swan (Video club), Pamela Piffard (The Huntingtonian yearbook: art, literary, photographic), Elizabeth Casazza (The Huntingtonian yearbook: business) and Kenneth Gilbert (stage crew).

 

Camille Tedeschi, Camille DeCanio and Bernadette Walsh will direct the school's internship program. Lauren Desiderio will advise the Social Issues club.

 

"We have a wonderful after school club program in place and all students are encouraged to participate in it," Superintendent John J. Finello said. "It certainly helps contribute to a well-rounded educational experience."
