Flower Hill’s Founding Librarian Passes Away
Mark Carney, Flower Hill Elementary School’s founding librarian, has passed away. He was 90 years old and residing in Boulder, Colorado.
Mr. Carney began working in the Huntington School District on September 1, 1954. He put in place Flower Hill’s library program and stayed at the school through June 1969. He was the librarian at Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School from September 1969 to June 1979 and then spent one year at Jefferson Elementary School before retiring in June 1980.
