Blue Devil Lax Shoots for a Cure

The Huntington boys’ lacrosse team will battle Cold Spring Harbor this coming Saturday, April 10 at 3 p.m. on the synthetic turf field at Blue Devil Stadium. The game will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The 4th annual Diabetes Shootout pits two of the better teams on Long Island against one another in an early season game that has the potential to become an instant classic. Admission is free. Refreshments will be sold by the Blue Devil Booster Club and the group’s popular trailer store will be on the scene, selling a variety of Huntington athletic apparel.

The scourge of diabetes has touched a member of Huntington head coach Paul McDermott’s family, making the need to find a cure a personal quest for him. The two teams are looking to “stick it to diabetes” on April 10.

To contribute to the effort, send a check in any amount made payable to JDRF to: Paul McDermott at 29 Tennyson Place, Greenlawn, NY 11740.
