Huntington Football on Play-off Drive

Three consecutive victories has the Huntington High School football team on a playoff drive as the Blue Devils prepare to enter the second half of the regular season schedule this weekend.
Big Blue travels to Deer Park this Saturday (Oct. 9) for a crucial 2 p.m. game. "Every game is important to us," head coach Steve Muller said. "We have a great group of players. Our goal every week is to play good, solid football and win. We will continue looking to capitalize on every opportunity and keep trying to reduce mistakes."
Huntington hasn't qualified for the post-season since 2006. Since winning the Long Island championship in 2005 with a 10-1 mark, the Blue Devils have turned in season records of 6-4, 5-3, 4-5 and 2-6 over the past four years. Overall, the Blue Devils are 380-270-30 in 87 seasons. In 15 years as head coach, Muller is 87-47.
Huntington's remaining regular season schedule includes the following games:
• Saturday, Oct. 9 Huntington at Deer Park - 2 p.m
• Friday, Oct. 15 Huntington at Eastport-South Manor - 7 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 23 East Hampton at Huntington - 2 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 30 Islip at Huntington 1:30 - p.m.
Huntington High School will celebrate its Homecoming Day on Saturday, October 23. There will be a 12 noon parade through the heart of Huntington Village followed by the football game against East Hampton at 2 p.m. The 2010 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during halftime activities. A four-hour evening dance will be held for students in the high school gym.
The Homecoming parade will be led by the Blue Devil marching band. Members of the Class of 1960, who will be in town for their 50th reunion, will be among the marchers. The procession will include four colorful floats created by members of the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes. Students will construct the floats on Friday night (Oct, 22) at the high school.
