School Board Schedules Reorganization Meeting for July 7
The Huntington School Board will elect its president and vice-president for the new school year and make appointments to various positions, including district clerk and treasurer at a public meeting set for Tuesday, July 7 at Jack Abrams Intermediate School at 6 p.m.
Trustees Elizabeth Black, Kim Brown and Emily Rogan will be sworn into office at the meeting and begin three-year terms that will run through June 30, 2012. Trustees will make dozens of appointments, including the district’s attorney, school doctor, financial auditors and the newspaper that will print legal notices.
Following the reorganization segment of the meeting, the School Board will conduct regular business and discuss personnel, curriculum and financial matters. Trustees will also field questions and comments from the community.
In addition to the three re-elected trustees, the 2009/10 School Board will include Christine Bene, Bill Dwyer, Richard McGrath and John P. Paci III.
