Blue Devil Marching Band to Host Sunday Home Show
The Huntington Band Parents Association will host marching bands from Levittown Division Avenue, Midland Park, Brentwood, Sachem, Hicksville, Walt Whitman and Mineola high schools this Sunday (Oct. 14) at the Blue Devil’s annual Home Show. Performances will begin at 12 noon on the football/athletic field.
The event includes many of the top competitive bands in the state, which are working to improve their show scores prior to the New York State Field Band Championships in the Syracuse Carrier Dome later this month.
“We expect a large crowd as the visiting bands and their fans come to cheer for their schools,” said Joan R. Fretz, director of fine and performing arts. Huntington residents are welcome to attend the show. Tickets are priced at $6. The Blue Devil band will give an exhibition performance at approximately 1:20 p.m.
“The Huntington Band Parents run a terrific show, with great organization, gracious hosting of the bands and delicious food,” Ms. Fretz said. All proceeds generated from the show will be used to support the Blue Devil band program and scholarships.
“This is a great opportunity to see our Huntington Blue Devils in their competition arena,” Ms. Fretz said. “Stop by to cheer for Huntington.”
