Southdown Primary School honored its September stars during a recent “splash” assembly in the gym. Students on every grade level were recognized along with building secretary Lindsay Fitzpatrick.

Southdown is the home of the dolphins, the school’s mascot. Students are awarded “splashes” for displaying positive behavior in the classroom and out and about the building, including being kind to others, demonstrating proper behavior in hallways and even boosting the spirits of someone feeling a little down.

One Southdown student is selected from each class in the building for formal recognition at the monthly “splash” assembly. The school considers these youngsters to be its stars of the month.

September stars included:

Kindergarten: Billy Oliva, Jada Pacheco, Aubree Kuhn, Abigail Byers
First grade: Vernon Bratton, Lily Dolezal, Martin Menor, Carolina Villanueva, Jaime Uvena
Second grade: Joseph Perotti, Carlos Jimenez, Kelly Cisneros, Will Donaghy
Third grade: Dana Saramago, Lilyanna Rivera, Jonathan Martinez
Fourth grade: Angie Uceda Enamorado, Dylan Proctor, Nina Fascilla

Southdown Principal Scott Oshrin was excited to recognize such a “wonderful” group of young people along with Ms. Fitzpatrick. The group came together in the school gym and posed for a commemorative photo that is sure to be cherished by the youngster’s families.
